Microsoft To Introduce AI-Powered Features On Windows 11 Applications

US tech giant Microsoft is reportedly working on different ways to bring artificial intelligence (AI) features to Windows 11. The company is considering adding AI-powered features to a few Windows 11 built-in apps like Photos, Snipping Tool. , and Paint.

You’ll find these apps preinstalled in Windows 11, and new features can be rolled out through app updates from the Microsoft Store or the company’s regular OS updates, according to a Windows Central report.

According to the report, Microsoft is developing an artificial intelligence function for Photos that would allow the application to recognize objects or people in photos and allow these elements to be cut and pasted elsewhere, as iOS and Android already do.

In Snipping Tool, the US tech giant wants to include OCR (optical character recognition) technology that allows Windows to recognize text from screenshots to speed up copying to the clipboard. the company is also working on bringing OCR to the Camera app, allowing users to select text from a photo taken on the device.

Finally, Windows Central sources said Microsoft has also been experimenting with bringing generative AI to Windows 11 Paint. Users can ask Paint to create a canvas based on user-set criteria, similar to how Bing Image Creator currently works.

“The Paint AI integration is based on the same Bing technology,” the sources added. It is not certain when Microsoft will implement these AI features in Windows 11. The company is still exploring ways to add AI features. They have an event in September. 21 to announce new Surface hardware and talk more about Windows AI.
